The Purpose of Small Groups

We consider small groups to be the heartbeat of Vineyard Crossroads Church.

The general purpose of small groups is:

  • To provide effective and pastoral care for people
  • To provide a safe place for fostering relationships of love, acceptance, forgiveness, and self-disclosure
  • To build community and fellowship as we grow in Christ and grow together
  • To provide training and equipping to do the works of the kingdom, giving "hands on" opportunities to learn how to do the stuff in a non-threatening environment
  • To develop leaders and release them into ministry
  • Evangelism
  • Church growth through multiplication of small groups. As a small group grows in size through the addition of new people, it is important that we multiply the group. This insures that we maintain groups that are small enough in size to provide a safe, warm, and friendly environment, while at the same time allows us to train people, release them into ministry, and continue to grow in a healthy way.
